Final Project: Proposal

My idea, inspired by the Group Project, is to make a car with omni directional wheels. The pictures are not the best quality since they are just "screenshots" taken with my phone, but the main idea is there. I need to add more details in the final car, but the chassis is pretty much done. The one problem I was having was getting my car to not look so... well... so suggestive. Which, for this project at least, isn't the goal. I removed the wheel casings and that helped a lot.

    I definitely think removing those wheel casings was the right move, ha! But in all seriousness, this is looking great so far - the car already looks super detailed, so I'll be interested to see what else you add to it. I certainly (Agree With) the proposal you've lined up for yourself, and I think it'll make for a great final project.

    I like the concept, but I'd like to know how you actually plan to mount the Omni-wheels to the assembly without some kind of wheel casing assembly to hold the (presumably spherical) wheels in place. the design definitely needs some re-working.

    Agree with, I like the car idea and i think the design concept is awesome. The screenshots provided also show a lot of cool potential for the project. I am curious to see how the project pans out.

    I think the wheel assembly is your biggest challenge... and doing some test prints will be essential!

    I love this idea and (A)gree with it! The car model looks really cool! Maybe think about how the wheels will be attached to the car?

    I'm going to (A)gree with this idea, though I'll say I haven't the foggiest how the omni-directional wheels will actually work. The fact that you even came up with the idea means you're more qualified to figure it out than I am, so I will simply wish you the best of luck in making this happen. It looks spectacular so far.

    i agree with this idea

    From what i see from the pictures it looks great so far and it is very possible to do omni directional wheels. what you can do is pretty much hide a wheel similar to that of the two front wheels of a shopping cart under the wheel castings.

    A really cool sci-fi-like concept. I Agree With it, since it's a well crafted very interesting design, but I would consider making tweaks too to make sure the wheels work out.

    (a) agree with. The design looks like something batman would like to drive. The idea of omni directional wheels would increase car functionality immensely. Like Bryan said the wheel assembly will be the challenge.

    i dont agree with nick at all, i think this is a cool design and i agree with it and would like to see how you would get the wheels to the car. definitely does not need some re-working

    (A) I agree with this idea - though I would have no idea how to accomplish omnidirectional wheels! I can't wait to see how this turns out. I'd love to see a demo once you've got a proof of concept print!
